BCBG Fall Collection

I was just browsing through BCBG's Ready to Wear Collection online and have to say WOW! I think the designers at BCBGdo an amazing job of incorporating the latest trends into classic polished looks. I am also loving this shade of green.

Where have all the Stylish Boots Gone?

The question on every girls mind. What kind of boots am I going to buy for the Fall? You know you have thought about it. As the days grow chillier and the thought of icy toes sneaks into the back of your mind. Well I have had my eye out for weeks now and have been sorely disappointed with the selection. I feel like most stuff out there just doesn't have any personality. Now I did find these amazing styles at Anthropologie but they are expensive: Snakeskin Punchline Boots $398 and Snap Happy boots $428. Any one have any great boot finds to share?

Emerging Jewelry Designer: Ines del Castillo

I love this new jewelry line by Ines del Castillo. Ines is a native of Mexico and you can see its influence in her designs. Her pieces have a nice combination of earthiness and glamour. Semi-precious stones and various metal are used to create each piece. The deep earth tones are a perfect combination for inky dark fabrics this fall. Available at Trunkshop.com.

The web store Paper-doll.com has some really cute clothes by canadian indie designers. So if you are getting tired of the same old U.S. shops try something totally new from Canada. Mise a nu sweater by Eve Gravel and Antoinette dress by 88 Queen Street.

Meet the Designer - Faryl Robin

Bloomingdale's will hosting two special parties for Farylrobin footwear. If you are not familiar with Farylrobin they have some great shoe and boot designs and have been
at Bloomingdale's SoHo location for a few seasons but will be a new addition to the 59th Street Flagship store.

The first party is Wednesday, September 13th from 6-8pm at Bloomingdales 59th Street and the second is Saturday, September 16th from 1-3pm at the SoHo location. Drinks will be served at both. Bacardi is sponsoring the 59th Street party and Smart Water (I hope they are mixing some vodka with that water) the SoHo location.

Hope to see you there.

Emerging Designer: Talla Design

I really love this label Talla Design. Based in San Francisco Talla started off in graphics and moved into textiles. Concentrating on patterns found in nature Talla's line includes clothing, handbags and house wares. You used to be able to buy her stuff from her website but seems like they haven't updated the collection from last year. I have seen some of her stuff at Anthropologie and also at one of my favorite San Francisco boutiques Doe (Lower Haight Street).

Jewelry Organization

I am a huge accessories junky and I have a lot of jewelry. Unfortunately, I haven't been very successful at organizing it and many of my necklaces have been getting severly tangled up. I came across this Manzanita Tree jewelry organizer at Wrapables and thought it was a great idea. This way you can hang your pieces up and they won't get all tangled together.

Trend Alert: Plaid Shoes

One of my favorite new looks for Fall is Plaid. Something that we didn't see last year or the year before ie. animal prints, and metallics. And an even more novel idea is plaid shoes. So if you aren't in to the giant plaid print dresses, skirts and coats and would like to tone it down a bit here is the solution. I think the first pair would also look great with tights. Roxy $39.95 available at Zappos and Vans $50.00

New York Shopping

While I usually don't blog about other blogs this is just too good to pass up. I have recently moved to New York city and while I knew inside out the San Francisco shopping scene (where I used to live), I have found it difficult to find great spots in New York to shop (gasp!). Of course is it easy to run across an utterly fabulous and super expensive shop but what I am really looking for are shops where I can find independent labels at AFFORDABLE prices - and of course vintage shops. That's where Refinery29 comes in. This site is like a treasure map of New York city indie style shopping. Photo shown from Poppet on E. 9th and 1st Ave. Enjoy!
